Our centre

The centre has been supporting people living with MS since 1985 when it was created by the Bournemouth branch of the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Following the MS Society's decision to cease running day centres, in December 2022 the centre's operations were transferred to MS Centre Dorset, a separate charity created by the former members of the MS Society's Bournemouth branch.

Our goal is to create a supportive and understanding environment where our members can exercise, socialise and enjoy themselves.

Physio suite

Regular exercise and physical movement are essential for promoting good health and well-being.  In our physio rooms we focus on providing activities suitable for all our members to help them manage their symptoms and maintaining quality of life.

Minibus fleet

We have a fleet of five fully-adapted minibuses which we use to transport members who are unable to drive to and from the centre.

Each minibus is staffed by trained volunteers, with a driver and a passenger assistant available to assist with getting on and off the minibus.

Landscaped gardens

We have a lovely garden space - very popular with our members in the warmer months, where they can sit and chat, play quizzes and just enjoy being outdoors. We have also used the lawn area for some outdoors tai chi.

With some recent generous donations from local Rotary Clubs, we are upgrading some of our garden furniture to make this an even more welcoming area.

Social meeting space

Our social area is the perfect place to unwind and connect with others. It's a great space to meet new friends and share experiences with people who understand the condition.

There is always a warm and welcoming atmosphere and someone to talk with.

Charity shop

Our onsite charity shop sells a wide range of donated goods - clothes, handbags, books, puzzles, ornaments, jewellery and many more.

The shop is not only a valuable source of income to the charity, it is a great way of recycling unwanted and preloved items and is very popular with our members.
